Jim Barfield is a retired criminal investigator from Lawton, Oklahoma who possesses none of the skills or degrees commonly associated with archeology or ancient studies of the Middle East. However, his personal study of the Biblical scriptures, Dead Sea Scrolls, the history of Israel and his skills as a criminal investigator have made it possible for him to discover the key to understanding the Copper Scroll. In-fact, none of the archeologists, rabbis, historians or anyone else that has seen his research on the Copper Scroll have doubted that he has unlocked its mystery. Using Jim’s research, the Israel Antiquities Authority has conducted a preliminary superficial excavation to determine the possibilities of finding the most incredible archeological discovery in history.
The Copper Scroll is literally a copper sheet about seven feet long and one foot wide that has Hebrew writing pressed into its surface describing unbelievable amounts of treasures from Solomon’s Temple and the Tabernacle of Moses to include, the Ephod of the High Priest, multiple vessels and gems of tremendous value. Most importantly, Jim may have located a buried cave that has the greatest hope “ever” to contain the Tabernacle of Moses, the Alter of Incense and “the Ark of the Covenant.” This evidence will be laid out for examination during Jim’s Power Point Presentation describing his discovery and his book due to be released by July 2010. When possible Jim brings with him an exact duplicate of the Copper Scroll, he fashioned using the same techniques employed by the authors of the scroll to produce the document.
Jim is also the author of, “The Timeline of the Messiah.” This Microsoft Excel document annotates and forms solid links for every year of history from Adam to the Crucifixion of Jesus using “only” timeframes noted in the Holy Scriptures. He further includes every year from the crucifixion to the year 2030 to show how accurate many of the prophecies hidden in scripture, the Dead Sea Scrolls and other well known prophecies line up with current events.
Jim became an investigator for the City of Lawton, Oklahoma in the year 2001 where his primary focus was arson. His position as a criminal investigator required him to sift through the remains of structures to determine the origin and cause of many fires, some accidental and some criminal. His ability to determine the cause of a fire and follow through with the required documentation earned him the coveted Arson Investigator of the Year Award for Oklahoma and a short time later…the International Arson Investigator of the Year Award.
Jim has won many other awards while serving with the City of Lawton as well as serving his country 22 years prior as an artilleryman, a VIP crew-chief on the UH-1 helicopter, a Scout pilot for the 6th Air Combat Brigade, and a Training, Advising, and Counseling Officer for the Ft Rucker Warrant Officer Candidate Flight School training pilots for service in the US Army. Truly an odd combination of skills for a man to eventually discover the secret for understanding such an enigmatic document as the Copper Scroll, none-the-less he has done it.
Jim has 4 children, Jimmy II, Shawn, Michael, and Heather his only daughter. He has one son-in-law Gerry, and two daughters-in-law Melanie and Violet. In addition, he has nine grandchildren, Seth, Jubilee, Gabriel, Josiah, Tamar, Ntzir, Nathan, Zekarya, Shechem, and Phineas. All of which are the love of his life.
He and his wife, Laurie, have been married for the last 32 years. They have lived in several locations because of their connection with the Army, Ft. Sill Oklahoma, Ft. Rucker Alabama, Ft. Hood Texas, and Ft. Hunter Ligget California.
One can readily see that Jim has no real qualifications for the discovery that he has made. Truthfully, Jim will tell you himself that there have been a number of unusual and even miraculous events that have made it possible for him to have reached the level of success he has enjoyed while dealing with the challenges of uncovering and eventually returning the treasures of the Copper Scroll to their rightful owners…the Nation of Israel.
The ruins of a burned structure tell a tale and reveal secrets that will send a person to prison for many years, just as the treasures of the Copper Scroll are captive in a lonely desert location for centuries. In a polar opposite move, Jim’s skills may soon set those treasures free for the first time since the destruction of the Temple of Solomon. Oddly enough the beginning line of the scroll reads like this, “Under the ruins in the Valley of Acor.” Now we all wait for the day that Jim will be allowed to sift through those ruins to solve his greatest case…the mystery of the Copper Scroll.
